Designing characters……
Heather Pain is a costume designer for film, television, theater and commercials. She recently designed a pilot “Ghosts”, for CBS, a project which gave her the opportunity to design, research and build costumes for ghosts from different time periods. She has designed a number of 1/2 hour comedy’s, “Single Parents”, on ABC, "Teachers", on TV Land, "Those Who Can't" on TruTV and “Melissa and Joey” for ABC Family. She was nominated for a 2017 and 2018 Emmy as an assistant costume designer on "Grace and Frankie" and co-designed "Fun Mom Dinner" a 2017 Sundance film. Throughout the course of her career, she has also worked as an assistant designer and a key costumer on contemporary, fantasy and period films including “The Green Mile”, “The Majestic”, “Eve’s Bayou” and “The Salton Sea”.
Getting to collaborate creatively and tell a story through costumes is a personal passion. The skills at which she excels include problem solving, effective communication with all departments, working within a budget, and bringing her unique sense of style to every project.
Heather's professional affiliations include The Costume Designers Guild 892 and The Costumers Union 705.
Heather attended Virginia Commonwealth University where she studied Fashion design and received a BA in Arts. She resides with her family in Altadena, Ca.
